Bruschetta al Pomodoro

A classic bruschetta al pomodoro made with toasted bread, fresh tomatoes, garlic, basil, and olive oil. Bright, seasonal, and built on a few high-quality ingredients.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 fresh plum tomatoes
  • 5 basil leaves
  • 6 slices crusty bread (½ inch thick)
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • salt and pepper
  • olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Wash tomatoes and cut them in half, removing the seeds and cutting into ½ inch cubes.
  • Smash each garlic clove with the flat side of your knife to crack the skin, then remove the peel.
  • Wash the basil leaves and dry well. Tear them into small pieces by hand.
  • Grill the bread on both sides.
  • Remove bread from the grill and immediately rub the garlic over one side.
  • Spread tomato, then basil.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • End with a drizzle of olive oil and serve.
